NAVIGATION & PURCHASING HELP
The site has recently been updated - please read the following carefully if you are experiencing errors of any kind.
Several parts of the site have been updated. The graphics face, the shopping basket window, and numerous content access devices for all internet browser programs throughout the site. It takes time for the site to update world wide. Firstly, due to a temporary storage of data on your system created by the program you use to browse the internet, known as the cache, old parts of the site may load quite erratically in some cases. If this is happening, press reload twice in quick succession in your browser. If this fails you may need to manually clear your cache. If you do not know how to do this, access your browsers help file and search for clearing cache. In some rare cases, Apple Mac's in particular, the browser will continue to load old parts of the site despite the advice given to solve this problem. We believe this is a hidden internal cache that seems to operate on cycles of around 2-3 days. Mac users have always reported eventually seeing the correct files, however only after the given period. Secondly, old shopping baskets that have been stored from a previous use of the site without completing the order will very likely malfunction. Clear your basket, close the window and restart your shopping. Finally some news for those who were experiencing problems with the paypal section already, you will now be able to maximise and scroll the shopping basket window in any internet browser program currently available.
The Merlin website is contained within a frame, and as you navigate through the catalogue each page will be displayed within the main frame.
To Browse the catalogue, simply click on the 'Browse Catalogue' menu bar and choose a category. A selection of CDs will be displayed in the frame.
To view more details about any CD, click the relevant CD image or the CD title and a new window will open with further details of the CD. You can close this window and continue browsing without purchasing at this point. (Note: Clicking the image does NOT add the CD to the shopping basket).
To buy a CD, click the BUY button associated with the CD and your choice will be added to your shopping basket. This will take you to your shopping basket with PAYPAL. This is a secure site where credit card payments can be made (note: the 's' in https://www.paypal.com stands for "secure"). To continue shopping simply close the PayPal (shopping basket) window and add more CDs as you wish. This will automatically update the contents of the shopping basket.
To complete your purchase, go to your shopping basket and remove or update quantities as desired. Then click update cart. You will need to do this to refresh the information contained in the basket. Then, when you are satisfied with your order, click Checkout. This will take you to another area of the PayPal secure site and follow the PayPal instructions, filling in name address and credit card details as requested.
Although the shopping basket says: "Shipping, tax, and handling costs will be calculated upon checkout", We wish to assure you that NO FURTHER CHARGES WILL BE ADDED. This is to accommodate Trade purchases in the future.
